St. Austin’s Academy is a private international school in Nairobi, catering to learners from pre-primary level to year 13.

The school offers a Cambridge International Curriculum (CAIE), including IGCSE, AS, and A-Level examinations, while concentrating on a values-centred education to prepare students for global challenges.

St. Austin’s Educational Structure

The first level in St. Austin’s Academy is Kindergarten, which includes Playgroup, Kindergarten 1, and Reception classes for children aged 2 and up.

This level focuses on play-based learning, with activities like music, drama, swimming, cookery, physical education, and gardening tailored to young learners.

The second level is the primary level, for children from age 2 and above, with a focus on foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and science.

Here, the teachers encourage practical application of mathematics, reading, writing, and speaking/listening skills.

The third level is lower secondary, where teachers build on primary education with a broader curriculum, preparing students for IGCSE.

The final level is upper secondary where students sit for IGCSE, AS, and A-Level exams, with many transitioning to universities worldwide.

Curriculum

St Austin’s curriculum encompasses on mathematics, literacy (reading, writing, speaking, listening), science, and humanities.

French is introduced orally in early years, progressing to reading and writing in the primary and lower secondary levels.

The institution is a modern school, and students use computers from an early age to foster technological literacy.

Art and Performance in the school includes 2D/3D art, IT-based art exploration, and opportunities for concerts and plays.

The curriculum promotes ethical values, leadership, and social responsibility, aiming to produce well-rounded global citizens.

The school is recognized as a top IGCSE institution in Kenya, with a dedicated faculty and a track record of students gaining admission to universities globally

Facilities

St. Austin’s Academy has state-of-the-art science laboratories, comprehensive libraries, and well-equipped classrooms.

Additionally, the institution also has a competition-size swimming pool, football fields, a basketball court and green playing fields.

The school has been able to be recognized nationally after winning awards in basketball and swimming competitions held in previous years.

A large dining hall, 24-hour online facility and full-time guidance counseling are also among the notable amenities that help the school to continue standing out as one of the best international schools in Kenya.

Fee Structure

Tuition Fees vary by year group, paid per term. For Year 11–13, fees are split into two installments annually. For a 2-year-old, the first-year cost is approximately Ksh329,000, including one-time fees.

A registration fee of Ksh15,000 is required and is applicable to all year groups to whoever would like to enroll to the school.

Transport fees are also charged for learners who would like to use the school transport, and it varies by zone, which are determined by distance from the school.

A 10% sibling discount is applicable on transport fees for additional siblings using two-way transport.

The fees are payable in 3 instalments, with the school expecting the term one fees to be strictly paid in full in the beginning of Term 1.

Consequently, for term two and term 3 fees are expected to be paid in full two weeks before the beginning of the term.

The school notes that the fees are subject to change and interested parents or guardians should contact the school for the latest structure.

Extracurricular Activities

The institution believe that extracurricular activities strive to cultivate a sense of belonging, foster school spirit, increase collaboration with students in different grade levels, and provide opportunities for students to connect with teachers outside of class time.
