The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has released a list of teachers promoted to higher grades following successful interviews conducted in January and February this year.
In a statement on April 2, 2025, TSC announced the promotion of 25,252 teachers, months after another 36,505 tutors were promoted in March last year.

The promotions came days after the commission activated its online application portal and invited qualified primary school teachers who wished to be deployed to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) to apply.
JSS jobs
In January this year, TSC said that only teachers serving under permanent and pensionable terms in public primary schools and meet the requisite qualifications should apply.
To be eligible, the commission said one must be serving as a primary school teacher employed by TSC.
They must also have attained a Mean Grade C+ at KCSE and a minimum C+ in each of the two cluster subjects that align with the JSS curriculum.
The deployment came with a number of benefits, including but not limited to better remuneration and opportunity to grow, as well as offering teaching experiences in a dynamic and evolving education system.
To apply, teachers were advised to visit the TSC online application portal and log in with their TSC number and password.
The deployment slots were limited to 6,000 vacancies, with the commission seeking to bridge a 72,422-teacher deficit in JSS across the country.
