The Ministry of education and the commonwealth scholarship commission (CSC) in the UK has announced scholarship opportunities for Kenyans.
In a notice on Tuesday August 27, the UK government stated that it is offering ten (10) PhD and Nineteen (19) Masters full scholarships to Kenyan citizens tenable in 2025.
Furthermore, the awards are tenable at any approved UK University of Higher Education Institution with which the CSC has a part-funding agreement.
Online applications will open on 10th September 2024 and closes on 15th October 2024.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should have backgrounds in the following fields: Agriculture, Healthcare, Housing and Settlement, Digital and Creative Economy, and Transforming Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Furthermore, candidates seeking to study master’s, and PhD must have a proof showing that they are Kenyan citizenship.

For the Master’s option, an applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree with at least 2nd class upper division from a recognized university with strong academic background and a Quality Study Plan.
Additionally, one should have supporting statements from two (2) referees and a proposal in the area of study clearly showing the potential impact on the development of Kenya.
For PhD candidates, applicants must hold a master’s degree from a recognized university, possess a strong academic background, provide supporting statements from two referees, and submit a Quality Study Plan.
He/ she should also have one supporting statement from a supervisor in a UK Institution and a proposal in the area of study clearly showing the potential impact on the development of Kenya.
How to Apply for UK Scholarship
All eligible candidates must complete the online application to Commonwealth Scholarships Commission in UK.

Download and print the completed online application form before submitting it electronically to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC).
Also, the applicant will download Standard Scholarship Application Form from the Ministry of Education website: http://www.education.go.ke/.
The form can also be obtained from the Directorate of Higher Education offices located at Teleposta Towers, 27th floor room 2702.

Complete the Standard Scholarship Application Form and attach the required certified supporting documents (certified photocopies of ID, academic/ professional certificates, transcripts, Birth Certificate, Passport, other testimonials).
Attach also a proposal in the area of study and a copy of the online submitted CSC application form.
Submit three (3) sets of the hard copy of Standard Scholarship Application form from MOE and CSC application form with all the certified copies to the Directorate of Higher Education.
Address it to Director – Higher Education, Ministry of Education. P.O. Box 9583 – 00200 Nairobi or Deliver to Teleposta Towers, 27th floor, Room 2702 not later than 5.00 pm on 17th October 2024.
