Photos making rounds online on Tuesday, July 2, depicting Timber XO, a club associated with Kapseret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi on fire sparked reactions.
The clips show several people standing by as the establishment went up in flames.
Additionally, it has been shared with captions and comments from users indicating that the club was set ablaze during protests on Tuesday, July 2.
The reports come days after the establishment was vandalized and looted in last week’s protests.
“Club Timba XO in Eldoret belonging to Oscar Sudi is currently on Fire!” one of the captions on X reads in part.

Truth Behind Timber XO on Fire
However, an investigation done by The Kenya Times has determined that the video has been fabricated and that the reports are false.
Other videos and photos shared by users online to confirm the incident are also not new.
Our deep dive has revealed that many of the photos were first shared on June 25, during anti Finance Bill protests.
Also, the search established that was no extensive damage caused on the entertainment despite the attack during the protests on Tuesday, June 25.
On the other hand, the club has been temporarily closed for renovation following the extensive damage.
The suspected goons who invaded the joint destroyed glass walls, windows and doors of the building and made away with liquor worth thousands of shillings.

Sudi Reacts After the Incident
Following the unrest experienced in the country, Sudi announced that he was taking a sabbatical leave from public engagements and development activities.
Further, he explained that his participation in public engagements and harambees would be used against him by members of the public.
“Going forward, I’ll not participate in any Harambee because it has been used to malign and disparage the good course, let it be banned,
“Thus, the current happenings in the country call for introspection and consequently, I’m taking a sabbatical leave from public engagements,” he said.
At the same time, he revealed that he was considering quitting politics, noting that it has taken most of his attention at the expense of his personal life.
