A photo of former President Uhuru Kenyatta and businessman Eddie Ndichu has been making rounds on social media after the former president made a rare appearance in the United States.
Ndichu shared the photo after he bumped into Kenyatta while attending a National Basketball Association (NBA) game between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat on April 25, 2024.
This prompted Ndichu to share more photos of himself with Uhuru while expressing excitement at the unexpected encounter.
“Since everyone has posted for me, let me also post Great bumping into this guy, missed him,” he posted on X.
The businessman further revealed that the former President shares the same birthday with his first-born son Huru.
Illustrious career
While the attention was majorly based on Uhuru, Ndichu’s profile is also prominent in some circles as he boasts of an illustrious career as a successful businessman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The businessman is the co-founder and CEO of Wapi Pay, an Africa-Asia financial technology solution provider.
Ndichu co-founded the company in 2019, through his experience as a leader in Digital, Mobile Payments and Fintech.
Wapi Pay delivers platform-to-platform integrations and virtual accounts (wallets) through its technology to offer its partners and customers convenient global payments and financial products for individuals, merchants and businesses in Africa and Asia.
The businessman who has also worked in the Banking Industry, had brief stints at Opera Software and Opay where he worked as the Managing Director in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

He has also held senior positions at top companies such as SEMA Mobile Services Limited, Bamburi Cement, and its parent company Lafarge Holcim.
During his stint in the banking industry, Ndichu worked at top banking institutions including Standard Chartered Bank, SBM Bank, and KCB Bank.

At Standard Chartered, the businessman worked as Regional Head of Digital Banking from 2011 to 2014.
The experienced businessman holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems and Statistics from Murdoch University where he graduated in 2006.
Recently, Ndichu graduated with a certificate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) after successfully finishing a Technology Leadership Program in Computer Systems Technology.
“My Co-Founder & I were fortunate to get into great programs at Harvard and MIT around the same time early in the year, getting away from operational and strategic activities,” he posted after graduating on April 26.
The tech entrepreneur also shares a son who turned eight in October 2023 with media personality Janet Mbugua as a co-parent.
Ndichu Meets Kenyatta
In the widely shared photo, former President Uhuru Kenyatta was seen clad in a green Boston Celtics’ cap and a black jacket.
The two were attending the Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat playoff game at TD Garden arena in Boston, Massachusetts.
According to Vivid seats, tickets for Heat-Celtics games cost $142 (Ksh18,860) on average but the prices can vary based on various factors.
