NTV presenter Susan Grace has shared her emotional journey to finding her biological father in a heartfelt revelation.
Grace shared in a post on Tuesday, October 14, that she launched the search for her father before turning 30, only to be stunned when he revealed himself at her mother’s funeral. In her statement, the presenter recounted the moment her father unexpectedly came forward during the funeral.
“My father showed up at my mum’s funeral, and that’s when he dropped the bombshell that he was my father. I wasn’t interested in reconnecting with him at the time as his poor timing angered me,” she revealed.

Raised by a single mother, whom she describes as a tireless provider and her strongest support system, Susan admitted that despite a comfortable upbringing, the absence of her father left a lasting emotional scar.
She candidly spoke about how his absence impacted her self-worth and personal relationships, and how she grappled with the pain of “grieving someone who’s still alive”.
“Still, I’d be lying if I said that everything she did for me erased the ache of growing up without a father,” she wrote.

Her mother’s death, she said, intensified the emotional weight she carried, having lost the only parental safety net she had ever known. Seeking closure rather than reconciliation, Susan eventually decided to find her father.
“I went looking for him, not necessarily to make up for lost time but for closure and for my own peace of mind. I didn’t want to keep carrying the ‘daddy wound’ into every season of my life,” she explained.
“Healing doesn’t always mean reconciliation; sometimes it means freeing yourself from the questions that have weighed you down all those years.”
