“My dad has been bedridden for almost 17 years now. He got a spinal injury from an accident. When my mum got diagnosed with cancer and left home for treatment, as the only girl and last born, I had to step up and take up her roles. It’s been three months. My dad is so proud of me,” she stated.
Her story resonated deeply with many, with the young woman going ahead to make an emotional appeal to Kenyans to help her buy a wheelchair for her father.

The response was overwhelming. She went on to reveal that she had received funds amounting to more than Ksh100,000.
“Good morning my lovely family, guess what! We have reached Ksh100K. I might not thank you all enough, but all I can say is… May you never lack, and may you enjoy good health. I am going to get an electric wheelchair. This is beyond my expectations.”
Despite the financial relief, the need for medical funds remained urgent. Murungi began auctioning household items and property days later to raise money for her mother’s treatment.
“I am selling whatever I can at home to cater for my mum’s treatment. If you find my posts, please retweet for me,” she wrote.

The young woman went ahead to share images of an alpine goat, a female goat, turkeys, and several eucalyptus trees up for sale.
However, on Monday, support from well-wishers led her to pause the sales and share an alternative means of contributing.
Nkirote said that she had received requests to share her Paybill account.
“I have received requests to share my Paybill account instead of selling out property at home and here it is. Paybill ; 522522 Account No; 1302194054, she said.
“I am highly indebted to you all for being so kind & supportive.”
