Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium Ready for an Epic Battle
The long-awaited fixture will determine whether Senegal secures their second Africa Cup of Nations title, following their triumph in 2021, or whether Morocco lifts the trophy on home soil for the first time since 1976.

Morocco and Senegal have met 31 times in senior men’s international football across all competitions.
Over the 31 matches, Morocco has won 18 times, with 7 matches ending in draws, and Senegal winning only 6 times.
The two sides have faced each other in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, African Nations Championship (CHAN), and also in international friendlies.
Despite the frequency of meetings, the AFCON final marks their first‑ever meeting in an Africa Cup of Nations final.
Morocco will feel confident ahead of kick-off, having won four of the last six encounters between the two teams.
Senegal’s most recent victory over Morocco came in May 2012, a 1–0 friendly win.
Senegal and Morocco Road to the Final
Morocco advanced to the Africa Cup of Nations final after an unbeaten run through the tournament.
They topped their group with wins over Tanzania and Zambia and a draw against Mali, conceding just once.

The hosts edged past Tanzania in the round of 16, defeated Cameroon 2–0 in the quarter‑finals, and advanced from the semi‑finals after a goalless draw against Nigeria, winning the match on penalties in Rabat.
Senegal also arrived in the final unbeaten.
The defending champions topped their group after victories against Benin and Sudan and a draw with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
They progressed through the knockout stages with controlled performances, overcoming Mali in the round of 16 and Tanzania in the quarter‑finals before defeating Egypt 1–0 in the semi‑finals to book their place in the final.
Both teams enter the final having shown consistency across the tournament, with Morocco carrying an undefeated home record and Senegal reaching their third Africa Cup of Nations final in four editions.
Brahim Díaz Looks to Secure Golden Boot
Morocco’s attacking midfielder Brahim Díaz enters the final as the leading scorer of AFCON 2025 with five goals.
The number is more than any other player ahead of the final match in Rabat, giving him a clear advantage in the race for the individual award.
The closest challengers—Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah—are both on four goals, but neither will feature in the final, leaving Díaz as the only active player with a realistic chance of adding to his total at the decisive stage
Morocco teammate Ayoub El Kaabi trails further behind on three goals, while Senegal captain Sadio Mané has scored two goals at the tournament, including the decisive strike in the semi‑final win over Egypt.
