The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) has advertised openings for qualified individuals to serve as Industrial Training Competency Assessment Facilitators.
In a notice, NITA said the initiative aims to enhance the skills of Kenya’s workforce by ensuring high standards in industrial training and certification.
NITA, established under the Industrial Training Act Cap 237, is responsible for regulating the training of individuals engaged in industry.
“We are committed to maintaining the highest standards in industrial training and certification,” said the Director General of NITA.
“By recruiting skilled facilitators, we can ensure that our assessments are thorough, and our certifications are credible.”
Role of NITA
The Authority offers qualifications through two pathways: GTT & MCP, targeting those who have acquired skills informally or non-formally, and the NSC for those with formal training in industrial centers.

These qualifications cover levels 2-8 of the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF), with assessments conducted in accredited industrial training centers across the country in April, August, and December.
NITA’s mandate includes assessing industrial training, testing occupational skills, and awarding various certificates such as the Government Trade Test (GTT), National Skills Certificate (NSC), and Master Craft Persons (MCP) qualifications.
NITA invites applications from individuals working in both formal and informal sectors of the industry or training institutions.
How to Apply
Roles available include Assessors, Test Developers, Moderators, and Drawing Experts for various programs including GTT, MCP, Apprenticeship, Skills Upgrading (SUG), and Indentured Learnership.
Applications must be submitted online by Friday, August 9, 2024, at 1700 Hrs. (East Africa Time).

Previous applicants from July 2022 are advised to check their application status on the NITA portal before reapplying.
NITA further emphasized that all applications must be done online and no physical or email applications shall be processed.
Additionally, the selection shall be based on competence.
