Co-operative Bank of Kenya has issued a public statement after viral social media videos showed a distressed woman outside one of its branches in Nairobi.
Identified in several clips as “M/s Mueni” and referring to herself as the “Queen of Africa,” the woman was seen walking naked in public while making serious claims.
She said that she had lost Ksh10 billion she allegedly held at the bank. She also threatened to expose alleged love affairs involving individuals at the bank.
Her reaction raised concern among users on social media, with many asking the bank to intervene.

Kenyans React to the Claims
Digital creator and philanthropist Ndungu Nyoro was among the first to raise the matter publicly. He appealed to the bank and the public to help the woman.
Additionally, he described the woman as being in visible distress and appealing directly to Co-operative Bank for assistance.
“There is a woman who has been walking in the streets of Nairobi in her birthday suit. She calls herself the Queen of Africa. She has some beef with the bank, and I think with some people from the bank.
“Whatever it is, please help her. Please save her from all she’s going through,” Nyoro wrote.

Co-operative Bank Responds
In response, Co-operative Bank acknowledged the situation in an official statement posted on its social media platforms, noting that the woman appears to be facing mental health challenges and requires professional care.
“The Bank has noted the inappropriate postings outside one of our branches on social media by a certain lady M/s Mueni, who from the various clips on diverse social issues requires relevant medical assistance,” read the statement signed by the Head of Marketing and Communication.
Further, the bank further stated it is in the process of locating her immediate family or next of kin to help facilitate her access to medical support through the proper legal and care channels.
“Our Bank Wellness are engaging a professional medical facility that could offer the needed help. We are now trying to trace the immediate family / next of kin who would support on the necessary due process for medical support,” added Co-operative bank.
