Former journalist and TV presenter, Kimani Mbugua has posted a video on his official Instagram page mocking fans who raised money to help him back on his feet.
A visibly inebriated Kimani who posted the video in an undisclosed location, recorded himself saying a lot of things punctuated by giggles.
However, little snippets of his rant could be heard, where he mocked the Kenyans who sent him money when he had appealed for help.
“Ka ulinitumia pesa, reverse, ka ulituma, enda uchukue. Naeza kurudishia yote,” Kimani Mbugua stated, amidst dazed giggles.
This can be loosely translated to, “Feel free to reverse the money you sent me. If you sent money to me, go refund yourself or I can even refund you myself.”
Further, the embattled media personality noted that he did not need any help.
“I don’t need your money,” Kimani noted, in his short Instagram video.
However, snippets of his eloquence came out a few times where he seemed to speak out his innermost hidden turmoil.
“You see, if you have gone through so much suffering in silence, what can make you possibly, want to go back?” he posed, seemingly to himself.
Kenyans React to the Video
Kenyans immediately rushed to the comment section to react to the chaotic video with empathy, saying that he has a problem.
Most of the netizens hoped that it was a scripted video and was not a documentation of his relapse back to drugs.
Instagram user Arthur Kimani commented, “What do you mean you can enjoy this if you go live! Bro take your medicines and keep praying to God because whatever you are going through is not permanent trust me.”
Another Instagram user, Stir Lon noted,” This boy is really struggling, he needs some serious counseling and motivation, I really feel him, I’ve always wanted to see him back to permanent normalcy. I’m really broken seeing this.”
“He needs help, this is a serious issue that needs to be dealt with asap, his family and friends should do the necessary,” Instagram user Wakhungu commented on the video.
