NRG radio presenter Natalie Githinji has reached out to President William Ruto hoping to draw his attention to the plight of women battling endometriosis.
Natalie’s call comes at time the entertainment space in Kenya was yet to come into terms with the loss of media personality and reggae queen Njambi Koikai (Jahmby) who died after a long battle with the condition.
In a statement on June 10, 2024, Natalie addressed a letter to the government while illustrating the effects of Endometriosis on someone’s body through her picture taken three years ago when she was admitted to a hospital.
“This was me 3 years ago. Endo eats you up till you look like a skeleton. Anyway, this is my plea today. A letter to the gov’t,” she wrote.
“Dear Gov’t, I’ll appreciate if I’m given a chance to just sit with the President of Kenya Hon. William Samoei Ruto and the Deputy President of Kenya Hon. Rigathi Gachagua and just have a talk on how women suffering from this monster can be helped to manage living with endometriosis,” she said.
Additionally, Natalie invited First Lady Rachel Ruto and Second Lady Dorcas Rigathi, citing their familiarity with issues affecting women during menstruation because of their shared experiences as women.
“I’d also appreciated the presence of the First Lady Rachel Ruto and Her Excellency Pastor Dr. Dorcas Rigathi as they are women and would understand all about periods and what we go through as women….,” she said.

NRG Radio Presenter Natalie Speaks on Holding an Event
In a previous post, Natalie spoke about procrastinating on holding an event to talk about endometriosis citing fear.
She also mentioned the lack of readiness to plan one while noting that both men and women were reaching out to her in a bid to learn more about the condition.
“Anyway, long story short, I’ve been planning and cancelling my endometriosis talks and events because of fear.
I’m still not ready to plan one, but there are a lot of men and ladies in my dm’s asking about endometriosis, wanting to learn and know more about this MONSTER mahn,” she said.
However, this changed when she reached out to hotel owners who were willing to collaborate with her and help realize her dream of hosting her first and largest event.
Through her event, she aims to secure support from at least three or four facilities to assist women with endometriosis in managing their condition.
“Hey y’all…if you are in a position to help me get a hotel/conference hall that is willing to do a partnership with me and help me make this endometriosis event successful…kindly dm and help a sis! (in short, I’m looking for a space to hold the event),” she wrote.
