Several government agencies have announced job opportunities for various positions amid the soaring unemployment and tough economic conditions.
According to adverts on December 19, some of the agencies include the Kenya Maritime Authority – KMA, Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) and Utalii College.
Kenya Maritime Authority Job Opportunities
The Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) is seeking to recruit at least fifteen qualified candidates for the senior managerial position at the authority as it seeks to fill the positions by January 2024.

Notably, the State Corporation mandate is to regulate, co-ordinate and oversee maritime affairs as guided by the Kenya Maritime Authority Act, 2006 the Merchant Shipping Act, 2009 and relevant Mari- time International Conventions.
In the notice, the corporation announced three job opportunities for the Port State Control officers.
Likewise, the corporation is also seeking to recruit two principal maritime security as well as two principal ship surveyors.
In addition, among the top senior positions with one vacant post announced include Assistant Directors for the positions of, Training and Certification Nautical department, Registration of Ship inspection surveys.
Other Assistant directors’ posts announced are Training and certification for maritime transport logistics and director research strategy and planning assistant.
On the other hand, KMA is also recruiting two principal officers for Seafarers training and certification standards for Engeniering and Nautical department.
KETRACO Announces 17 Posts
Also, the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) has announced seventeen job opportunities.
The State agency is looking to recruit eight craftsmen for the position of substation operator which according to the agency, is permeant and pensionable.
Similarly, other job opportunities by the agency with one post include the company secretary and general manager legal service, together with a chief pilot.
According to the state agency, the two positions stated have at least a five-year renewable contract.
Other positions include, Manager Human Resource, Senior research officer and Engineers.
Kenya Utalii College
The Kenya Utalii college has declared 26 positions vacant within its management.
According to the notice, the state agency is looking to recruit at least 10 senior principal lecturers.
Similarly, the agency has sixteen vacancies for the position of Deputy Directors in various departments within the institution.
Further, interested and qualified candidates are required to fill the requirement of the job opportunities they are applying for in the three government institutions website.
“The terms of service for the above positions are on a three (3) years contract renewable once subject to performance and retirement age.
