The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection through the National Employment Authority (NEA) has listed several organizations not registered.
In a statement on Thursday October 3 revealed 13 organizations running without NEA approval.
The statement came amid increased cases of job seekers being defrauded by various employment agencies.
“We wish to inform the general public and jobseekers that the following Private Employment Agencies are NOT registered by the Authority and are therefore not authorized to undertake any recruitment activities for local (Kenyan) or foreign labour markets, “part of the statement read.
Ministry of Labour lists Judy Chepchirchir’s agency
Among the recruitment agencies that the ministry has advised job seekers not to seek employment opportunities from is First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Ltd a firm linked with Judy Chepchirchir.
Judy came into the public limelight after residents of Eldoret accused her of allegedly defrauding them millions of shillings through her recruitment agency.

Appearing before Senate Labour and Social Welfare Committee on August 18, 2023, victims who allegedly lost their money through her recruitment agency narrated distressing stories of how their lives had changed after selling their property and land in search of a better future.
According to the parents, their children were assured of employment opportunities in Australia, Poland, Dubai, and Finland among other countries.
Government lists other unregistered agencies
However, in a quick rejoinder on August 22 Judy defended herself by saying she had already refunded money to 448 potential workers who had failed to secure employment as earlier promised.
Besides First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Ltd other organizations that were listed by the ministry include:

- Geoverah Agency Ltd
- Geoverah Africa Safaris Ltd
- Daawo Holdings Ltd 7. Makungu International Ltd
- Talent Getaway Ltd
- Royal Capital Placement Ltd
- Jakarta Ventures Ltd
- Skill Dove Ltd
- Gifted Minds Tours Travel Ltd

Additionally, the ministry warned members of the public to take caution while dealing with recruitment agencies.
“Members of the Public are further cautioned to do due diligence before they engage with any Recruitment Agency.
The list and registration status of recruitment agencies can be accessed through the NEA website,” the statement read.
The ministry urged members of the public to visit the NEA website that is https://www.neaims.go.ke/EmploymentAgencyList.aspx or alternatively https://www.neaims.go.ke/login.aspx to familiarize themselves with recruitment agencies approved by the government.
