KCB Bank Announces Job Opportunities: How to Apply

The Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) has announced various job openings and invited qualified Kenyans to apply before the deadline.

In a notice on Monday, February 10, 2025, the financial institution outlined minimum requirements for applicants, including the job description.  

“We’re hiring! Explore exciting career opportunities on our website and take the next step today. Apply now,” the statement read.

Available Positions advertised by KCB

  1. Senior Manager, Information Risk

One of the positions advertised is Senior Manager, Information Risk, with responsibilities that include cybersecurity analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Group Cyber Security in assigned implementation projects, ensuring all applications and changes meet the set information security requirements before being introduced into production environments.
  • Contribute to the definition, documentation, and implementation of software security policies, secure coding practices, and guidelines for the bank, in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in developing and conducting regular training sessions on secure coding, software security, and application security practices for development teams and other KCB technology staff.
  • Support the identification, integration, and maintenance of application security testing tools.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications in information security, such as CISA, CRISC, Security+, or equivalent.
  • Certification in information security testing, such as CSSLP, CEH, OSCP, CPT, GPEN, GWAPT, eWPT, eJPT, or other related certifications.
  • A minimum of three years’ work experience, with at least one year in Information Security and one year in Application Security within a project setup.
  1. Senior Brand Manager, Digital Campaign

Another advertised position is Senior Brand Manager, Digital Campaign, responsible for overseeing digital marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement digital campaign strategies, creating end-to-end campaign roadmaps aligned with the bank’s strategic goals. Campaigns will target key consumer segments, including youth, women, MSMEs, and mass markets.
  • Lead management, working with the customer excellence team, outbound call center, and retail sales team to ensure efficient lead conversion.
  • Oversee media planning, placements, and media buys across digital channels to ensure cost efficiency and optimal exposure.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Additional qualifications such as a degree in Insurance, Diploma in Insurance, or a master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • At least five years’ experience in marketing campaigns and four years’ experience in digital media buying.

  1. Head, Marketing – Business Functions

KCB is also hiring for the position of Head, Marketing – Business Functions, which involves leading marketing strategies across various business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction within the marketing department, ensuring alignment with the bank’s overall strategy and brand guidelines.
  • Work with both local and international subsidiary marketing teams to develop a Group Center of Excellence, supporting marketing strategy development and execution of campaigns to strengthen the bank’s brand presence across the region.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce (Marketing), Business Management, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • A master’s degree is desirable.
  • At least 12 years’ experience in brand management, marketing campaigns, and marketing agency management.
  1. Sahl Banker

KCB has also advertised the Sahl Banker position, which focuses on Islamic banking services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both existing and potential customers.
  • Grow and manage the Sahl Islamic Banking customer base.
  • Meet set targets for both liabilities and assets.
  • Provide expert advice on Islamic banking products, services, and principles to assist customers in making informed financial decisions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A university degree from a recognized institution.
  • Professional certification in Sharia or Islamic Banking is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of four years’ general banking experience, with at least two years’ experience in Islamic banking.
