KRA Announces Paid Internship Opportunities; How to Apply

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced one-year paid internship and pupillage opportunities for graduate Kenyans.

KRA in a notice on Tuesday, December 30 stated that the internship will run from January to December 2025 while the pupillage program will run from May 2025 to April 2026.

“Are you a fresh Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma graduate eager to gain hands-on experience?” read the notice in part.

“In support of the Government’s Youth Initiative to develop a pool of young talent for the Kenyan Labour Market, KRA is seeking applications from fresh Bachelor’s Degree and Diploma Graduates for its January to December 2025 Internship Programme.”

KRA stated that this initiative is part of the Government’s Youth Talent Development Program.

The programme aims at providing the Youth with an opportunity to acquire practical skills of their respective areas of specialization in partial fulfilment of their degree programme.

KRA Available Internship Opportunities

The opportunities are open in the following disciplines: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing & Communication and Communications.

Additional openings include international relations, diplomacy, public relations, media studies, photography, videography, film production, animation, television and radio, writing and publishing, digital media, journalism, and mass media and communication.

Other fields include screenwriting and editing, music supervision, ICT, BBIT, hospitality, records management, records and archives, library and information science, security and safety, security management, criminology, criminal justice, forensics, and business administration.

Business management, project management, monitoring and evaluation, counselling psychology, occupational health, disaster management, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and structural engineering are also listed.

Further disciplines include land economics, property management, quantity surveying, actuarial science, transport and logistics, fleet management, law, education, chemistry, and analytical chemistry.

Requirements for engagement as an Intern

Interested applicants must be Kenyan Citizen aged not more than 35 years by their next birthday and must have graduated with a first Degree (undergraduate), or Diploma from a recognized institution between January 2023 and December 2024.

Furthermore, they must be available full-time for the twelve months duration of the program and should not have undertaken any other internship or exposed to work experience in their area of specialization, after graduation.

How to Apply

All applications must be submitted online through the official KRA career portal and after successfully registering in the e-recruitment portal.

Also to note, incomplete applications will not be considered, and only selected candidates will be contacted.

The deadline for application is set for Monday, 23rd December 2024.

The monthly Stipend payable is Ksh. 25,000 (Degree holder) and Ksh. 18,000 (Diploma holder) and is subject to statutory deductions.

Once selected, candidates will be required to submit proof of a valid Personal Accident Insurance Cover, Certificate of Good Conduct, Copies of KRA PIN Certificate, SHA, NSSF, ID card and Bank Account Details.
