Nakuru County Public Service Board has re-advertised 159 vacant positions for Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) III teachers.
In a notice on May 30 the Board invited applications from qualified Kenyan Citizens to fill the vacant positions.
“Pursuant to the provisions of Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Section 59 of the County Government Act 2012, Nakuru County Public Service Board invites applications from qualified Kenyan Citizens to fill the following vacant positions,” read part of the notice.
The Board also advised those who had applied in the earlier advert (ADVERT NO. 01/2024/07) not to re-apply as the previous applications are still valid.
The basic salary scale ranges between Ksh 23,700-Ksh 31,450 per month.
Allowances as per the Salary and Remuneration Commission (SRC) circulars are attached to the position and the term of Service is permanent and pensionable.
Requirements for ECDE Teachers in Nakuru
For appointment to this position a candidate must have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D+ (Plus) plus an ECDE certificate offered by KNEC or Ministry of Education or its approved equivalent.

They may also have a KCSE minimum grade D+ (Plus) plus ECDE offered by KNEC or Ministry of Education or its approved equivalent plus Diploma in ECDE offered by KNEC or its approved equivalent.
Applicants must also be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and possess a certificate in computer applications.
Furthermore, teachers serving in public ECDE centers in Nakuru County and are in possession of KCSE grade D and D-(minus) and a Certificate in ECDE from the Ministry of Education or KNEC are eligible to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will include class teaching, role modelling. guidance and counselling, mentoring and motivation of the learner
They will also be required to prepare reports, ensure the safety and security of the learners, and assist in designing, organizing and facilitating play/learning activities for learners.
Additionally, they will be managing ECDE classes and keeping professional and administrative records (Schemes of work, lesson plans, daily program of activities, attendance registers etc.)

Interested and qualified candidates are required to make applications by downloading and completing Employment Application Form from the County Government of Nakuru website: www.nakuru.go.ke.
A duly filled employment application form and certified copies of National ID, KCSE, Certificate/Diploma and TSC registration certificate should be sent through the POST OFFICE or COU SERVICES in a sealed envelope to be received on or before 5th June 2024 at 5.00p.m.
One should clearly indicate the Advert number (ADVERT NO. 12/2024/01) and position applied for on top of the envelope and addressed to the Secretary Nakuru County Public Service Board Public Works Building-Prisons Road P.O. Box 2870-20100 NAKURU.
