Professor Isaiah Wakindiki has been reappointed as the Vice Chancellor at the Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA).
Wakindiki has been serving as the third Vice Chancellor since his installation at the 13th graduation ceremony in 2021.
“The Board of Trustees, Chancellor, University Council, and The KCA University Fraternity congratulate Prof. Isaiah I. C. Wakindiki, PhD, EBS. On his re-Appointment as Vice Chancellor & CEO,” read a congratulatory post by KCA University.
Additionally, the university is inspired by the vision of the professor and his commitment to leadership, which shapes the vision of the institution.
According to KCA University, Wakindiki will serve as the VC for five more years to bring transformation to the University.
Currently, the professor is the vice president of the Association of African Universities (AAU) for the 2025–2029 term, following his election on July 30, 2025.
The election took place during the 16th AAU Quadrennial General Conference held in Rabat, Morocco.
Over 400 higher education leaders, policymakers, and development partners from across Africa and beyond were in attendance.

About Isaiah Wakindiki
Prof. Wakindiki holds a PhD in Soil Science from Egerton University, a Master of Science in Soil Science and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Nairobi, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education & Training from the University of Fort Hare in South Africa.
He is a Professor of Soil Science with over 30 years of experience in teaching, research, and university leadership.

Wakindiki is an accomplished scholar with more than 100 publications in refereed journals and books, and is a brother of the Kenyan deputy president, Kithure Kindiki.
On December 12, 2025, he was conferred the national honour of Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (E.B.S.) by the President William Ruto.
Prof. Wakindiki is a member of the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions, the Soil Science Society of South Africa, and the Kenya Network of Entrepreneurial Institutions Leaders (KNEIL).
Enrollment numbers at the university are estimated at 16,000 students across the main campus, city center, Kitengela, and Kisumu campus, with 40 programmes offered in accounting, finance, education, information technology, and research.
KCA University
The university was founded in 1989 as Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) as a training institution for accountants in the country.
The government of Kenya granted the institution a charter in 2007, making it a fully accredited university.
Located along the Thika Super Highway, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various fields, including accounting, business, information technology, and social sciences.
Its mission is, “To be an innovation-driven, globally competitive business and technology University, promoting integrity, diversity, and teamwork.”
The current Chancellor is Dr. Martin Oduor Otieno, a renowned business leader, executive coach, and governance advisor in East Africa.
Prof. Joshua Bagaka is the university’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs; Prof. Damiannah Kieti Manono is the DVC for Finance, Planning and Development; and Prof. Vincent Onywera is the institution’s pioneer DVC for Research, Innovation and Outreach.
