PSC Announces 1,000 Paid Internship Opportunities For Graduates: Qualifications and How to Apply

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 1,000 internship vacancies under the Ministry of Education’s Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5.

In an announcement on September 15, the PSC stated that successful candidates will be deployed to schools at the sub-county level, where they will support virtual learning and other digital platforms while gaining practical skills and knowledge.

“The Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education has declared 1,000 internship vacancies under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5. Successful candidates will be appointed and deployed to schools at the sub-county level, where, in addition to acquiring practical skills and knowledge, interns will play a critical role in supporting virtual learning and other related digital platforms,” read part of the announcement.

PSC Lists Requirements

According to the Ministry of Education, successful applicants must have graduated not earlier than 2020 and meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education specializing in Information Communication Technology, a Bachelor’s degree in ICT, a Diploma in ICT, or a Diploma in ICT Integration in Education from a recognized institution.
  • Have knowledge of networking and infrastructure, application development, information security, and project management.
  • Have the ability to integrate ICT into education, particularly in e-learning and content development.
  • Possess the requisite skills to conduct research and innovation to support the Digital Literacy Programme.
  • Be willing to be deployed to any Sub-county Education office on a full-time basis.

Internship Duties and Responsibilities

Successful interns will support e-learning and content development in line with school schemes of work and provide classroom support while training primary school teachers on the use of digital literacy devices.

They will also support the implementation of the Digital Learning Programme and develop innovations aimed at improving the use of digital learning in schools.

The interns will promote the safe, secure and ethical use of technology in learning and assist teachers in integrating ICT into teaching, learning and assessment.

Their responsibilities will also include supporting school staff in developing key policies and procedures and providing first-line support and maintenance of ICT services in schools.

Successful candidates will be deployed to schools at the sub-county level, where they will gain practical skills and knowledge while supporting virtual learning and other digital platforms.

How to Apply For the Advertised PSC Jobs

The internship will run for 12 months and will not be renewable.

Interns will receive a monthly stipend from the State Department for Basic Education at a rate determined by the Government.

On successful completion of the Internship Programme, the interns will be awarded a certificate by the State Department.

Interested and qualified applicants are requested to make their applications online through the Public Service Commission’s job portal accessible through www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psckjobs.go.ke by October 5, 2026.
