The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced vacant positions within the Ministry of Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy.
The vacancies are under the State Department for ICT and the Digital Economy.
PSC invited applications from qualified persons interested in shaping the future of public service delivery in Kenya to apply for jobs as Information Communication Technology Assistants.
In this role, successful applicants will contribute to developing, maintaining, and optimizing ICT systems that support the delivery of government services.
The ICT Assistants will also lead the implementation of technological solutions that enhance efficiency, improve user experiences, and ensure secure data management.

According to PSC, the responsibilities of an ICT Assistant III will include installing, updating and configuring operating systems and operations.
Other responsibilities of ICT Assistants
They will also be involved in collecting ICT operational data, installing and configuring ICT end user devices, and implementing ICT policies, strategies, regulations, standards and guidelines.
In addition, they shall be involved in repairing and maintaining ICT equipment and associated peripherals.
The ICT Assistants will on the other hand perform troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving network, software and hardware problems.

Additionally, they shall monitor the performance of ICT equipment.
In this role, the ICT Assistant III contributes significantly to advancing the Ministry’s mission of building a digitally empowered Kenya, where citizens, businesses, and government entities benefit from efficient, technology-driven services.

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma in any of the listed fields.
They include Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Networking, Software Engineering, Business Information Technology, Data Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Cyber Security or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
