The Public Service Commission (PSC) has invited applications from qualified persons to fill several vacant positions in the public service.
In a gazette on Tuesday, August 15, PSC CEO Dr. Simon K. Rotich explained that the details of the posts and mode of application can be accessed on the Commission’s website.
“Interested and qualified people are required to make their applications online through the Commission website www.publicservice.go.ke or jobs portal www.psckjobs.go.ke,” said Dr. Rotich.
Further, PSC noted that the applications should reach the Commission on or before September 5 latest by 5pm East African Time.
The posts are in different are in different state departments and the number of vacancies varies across the various positions.
Internal Security
To begin with, there are 10 vacancies for the post of Senior Deputy County Commissioner I and 6 slots for the Senior Deputy Secretary post.
Also, PSC announced 1 vacancy for the post of a Senior Deputy Government Chemist, 2 openings for Deputy Government Chemist post, and 13 openings for an Assistant Government Chemist.
Further, there are 9 and 10 vacancies for Deputy Director Laboratory Science and Senior Principal Laboratory Technologist posts, respectively.
National Treasury
Under The National Treasury, the PSC declared one vacancy each for the position of a Director Investment and Internal Auditor General.
Foreign Affairs
The Commission advertised 20 opportunities for the Deputy Directors, Foreign Service and 5 vacancies for Assistant Directors, Foreign Service docket.
Transport
There is one opening for Deputy Director, Air Transport and Principal Research Officer.
Further, there are 2 other openings for Assistant Directors, Air Transport and Deputy Directors, Roads and Railway Transport Services.

Public Works
PSC publicized one slot for; Chief Quantity Surveyor, Director Legal and Enforcement, Senior Principal Legal and Enforcement Officer, Director Building Inspection Audit and Deputy Director Building Safety and Quality Assurance.
In addition, there are 2 posts for Deputy Directors Legal and Enforcement and Deputy Director Building Inspection Audit.
Housing and Urban Development
Also, PSC announced one position for a Senior Principal Superintending Building Surveyor and a Senior Principal Superintending Roads Engineer.
Further, there are 2 slots for Deputy Director Urban Development; 3 positions for Deputy Director Urban Metropolitan Development and 4 post for Deputy Directors in Housing and Estate Management divisions.

Crop Development
Furthermore, PSC announced one vacancy under the following sub-divisions: Director Agriculture, Secretary Agriculture Research and Innovations, Engineering Secretary and Senior Principal Superintending Engineer (Agriculture).
Under the Agriculture Research and Innovations, PSC advertised 2 opportunities for Director, 4 Deputy Director slots and 8 Assistant Directors opportunities.
Additionally, there are 5 Deputy Director, Agriculture (Kenya School of Agriculture) and 10 Food Technologist positions.
Also, 14 Deputy Director Agriculture and 27 Assistant Director Agriculture slots are up for grabs.
There are other vacancies in the State Department for Crop Development, Livestock Development, Industry, Culture and Heritage, ASALs and Regional Development and Broadcasting and Telecommunication.
Public Service Cancelled Vacancies
However, the PSC has cancelled vacancy advert for 6 positions.
This include: Director Internal Trade, Assistant Director Tourism Research Policy and Innovation, Assistant Director Tourism Development and Promotion, and Assistant Director Tourism Investment and Finance.
