St. Andrews Turi Announces Jobs for Teachers; How to Apply

St Andrews Turi School in Kenya has announced several vacancies for teachers and department heads. 

According to a notice dated 16th January 2025, the school seeks to recruit professionals for positions including Assistant Head of the Pastoral department, Head of Drama, Head of Sixth Form College, Head of Sport and Academic PE and a teacher of English in its senior school. 

In addition, the renowned school advertised positions for Deputy Head (Academic), Key Stage 2 Teacher and EYFS/Key Stage 1 Teacher in its preparatory school.

Qualifications and requirements for teachers 

According to the information provided on the website, teachers should have a good teaching degree and relevant postgraduate of the same shall be an added advantage.

Interested candidates should have at least two years working experience in the teaching field due to VISA requirements. 

Applicants are also required to have a clear understanding and affinity for the school’s ethos and have knowledge in effective leadership and management in relation to outstanding academic provision. 

Essentially, the applicants should have evidence of good management which incorporates detailed planning, successful implementation, effective monitoring and evaluation strategies.

General Skills and Attributes 

The applicants should have a professional demeanor that is supportive, encouraging, compassionate, inclusive, and an impressive personal presence and presentation. 

Additionally, the applicants should have, the presence, intellect, tact and credibility to represent the school at all levels and to a variety of audiences. 

Vision, creativity and imagination combined with the ability to operate at a strategic level will also be considered in the recruitment.

Application Procedure 

Applications should be submitted via the school website (St. Andrews Turi Career Opportunities) and must include: a completed application form, updated CV, and a brief cover letter.  

If your application is successful, the school will contact you within three working days of the closing date. Early applications are encouraged.  

Closing date for applications is on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 1800hrs (GMT). 

Preliminary interviews will be held on Monday, January 27 ,2025, and final interviews will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025.
