As the 2022 elections near closure, a host of big political names from both political camps have fallen causality to the power of the ballot.
So far, among them fallen bigwigs include National Assembly Majority Leader Amos Kimunya who lost the Kipipiri parliamentary seat and Jubilee Director of Elections Kanini Kega who lost his Kieni seat.
Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni was also another victim after losing the Ndaragwa seat while four-term Taveta MP Naomi Shaban failed to defend her seat.
In Rift Valley, two-term Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter (independent) was floored by Mr Bernard Kitur (UDA)
Two-term Keiyo North MP James Murgor lost to former senator Kipchumba Murkomen’s aide, Mr Adams Kipsanai of UDA.
Kitutu Chache North’s Jimmy Angwenyi was defeated by 33-year-old Japheth Nyakundi of UDA.
Mr Angwenyi has served as an MP for four terms
Others who have fallen at the ballot include Nyaribari Chache, MP Richard Tong’i, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, and Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir,
Bungoma counterpart governor Wycliffe Wangamati also lost to Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka.
Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito, appeared to be losing to Fredrick Ikana Lusuli of ANC
In Bumula, incumbent, Mwambu Mabonga, was trailing Democratic Action Party Kenya (DAP-K) candidate Jack Wamboka.
