Betty Batuli Montet is a Kenyan politician and public servant, currently serving as a nominated member of the Kenyan Senate under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) since August 16, 2022.
Before joining Parliament, she worked at Royal Media Service as a Special Programs Manager.

Betty Batuli Montet undertook her professional training at the Kenya Government Secretarial College, where she completed courses in secretarial and management skills.

Career life
Montet began her career in 1982 as a senior secretary in a government department, a role she held until 1990.
She then moved into the private sector, working as a manager at Meat Wear from 1990 to 2000.
In 2002, she joined Royal Media Services as a Special Programmes Manager, a position she held for two decades until 2022.
That same year, she transitioned into politics and was nominated as a senator in Kenya’s 13th Parliament under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), officially taking office on 16 August 2022.
Family
Senator Montet was married to Colonel (Retired) James Gitahi Nguyo, a veteran Kenya Air Force pilot who later worked as a commercial pilot at Wilson Airport.
Colonel Nguyo died in a road accident along Mombasa Road at Kyumvi Junction in early March 2025.
Following his death, the senator disclosed that she was hospitalised for two days due to the shock.
Colonel Nguyo was widely respected for his service, including piloting former presidents Daniel arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki.
