Dhadho Godhana is a retired Major and a Kenyan politician currently serving as the Governor of Tana River County, first elected in August 2017 and re-elected in 2022.
He has previously served as a Member of Parliament for Galole Constituency and was the Assistant Minister for Communications as well as for Livestock Development.
His leadership honours include the Elder of The Burning Spear medal and the United Nations Force Commendation.
Dhadho Godhana is affiliated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
Educational Background of Dhadho Godhana
Dhadho Gaddae Godhana studied French Language and Literature at Alliance Française in Kenya from 1994 to 1997, where he obtained a Diplôme du Langue.
He later joined the Kenya Military Academy in 1994 and trained there until 2003, gaining leadership and discipline skills.
Between 2006 and 2007, he pursued a Certificate in Discipleship and Evangelism from Life Ministry.
In 2010, he enrolled at Kimmage Development Studies Centre in Ireland, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Development Studies in 2015.
While at Kimmage, he also obtained a Diploma in Governance and Development between 2010 and 2012.
His academic qualifications were challenged after he became governor, but the High Court in Malindi affirmed the validity of his degree in 2018.
Career
Dhadho Godhana entered public service after his military and academic training.
He was elected as Member of Parliament for Galole Constituency in the 2007 general elections and served from January 2008 to March 2013.
During this period, he also held government positions as Assistant Minister for Communications from 2008 to July 2011 and later as Assistant Minister for Livestock Development from July 2011 to March 2013.

In addition to politics, he ventured into business. Since 2010, he has been the Proprietor and Managing Director of Ozonelinks International, a company engaged in mining, hardware, housing, and general supplies with operations in Nairobi and Mombasa.
His career took a major step forward in August 2017, when he was elected Governor of Tana River County on the ODM ticket, succeeding Hussein Dado.
He was re-elected in the August 2022 general elections for a second term.
