Gloria Orwoba is a Kenyan politician was nominated as Senator in the Senate for women since 2022 under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
However, the UDA party on May 19, 02025 announced that it had expelled Orwoba from the party.
Born on 25 May 1986, Orwoba was raised in Kisii County by a single father.
She is also the co-founder of the ‘Uji Ya Glo Nutrition Programme,’ which has delivered a cup of porridge and slices of bread to students in 13 elementary schools in Kisii county, Obasi constituencies for many years.
Educational Background
Gloria Orwoba attended State House Primary School for her primary education and later joined St. George’s Girls’ Secondary School in Kilimani, where she sat for her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
After her KCSE, Gloria proceeded to Nairobi University to pursue a diploma in Architecture and later a degree in social work from the same university and is currently pursuing a degree in leadership and management.

In 2015, she moved to Sweden with her family and subsequently managed the Facebook data Centre in Denmark.

Orwoba briefly returned to Kenya in 2017 to run for the Kisii County Executive for the Youth, but she was unsuccessful.
Moving to Kenya permanently in 2019, she intended to run as the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate for the Bobasi Constituency in Kisii County.
In 2020, Gloria served in the Global Parliament Youth session where she served as the country coordinator and later on, she held the position of Country Manager for Rangi yetu.
Orwoba was chosen to be a nominated Senator in 2022, representing women, by the Senate, which has additional Senators representing women, young people, and people with disabilities.
As an advocate for the rights of women, she called on the government to do more to respond to the issue of period poverty in Kenya.

In 2023, she tabled a motion calling on the Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action to provide free sanitary products for all schools in Kenya.
She has also requested that all schools be equipped with the correct equipment to dispose of feminine hygiene products.
