Erastus Kivasu Nzioka is a Kenyan politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Mbooni Constituency in Makueni County.
He has served two terms as the Member of Parliament for Mbooni Constituency.
Educational background of Kivasu Nzioka
Kivasu Nzioka attended Wanzauni Primary School, where he completed his Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) between 1969 and 1975.
Then he proceeded to Machakos Boys High School, where he earned the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) from 1976 to 1979, followed by the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) in science subjects during 1980 to 1981.
He pursued his higher education at the University of Nairobi – Chiromo Campus, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Quality Control and Computer Science between 1983 and 1986.
Kivasu Nzioka advanced his studies at the University of Nairobi, Institute of Computer Science, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science from 1986 to 1987.
Later, he deepened his specialisation with a Master of Science in Information Systems, completed between 2005 and 2007.
Career life
Nzioka began his professional career in 1987 as a Computer Programmer at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), a position he held until 1989.
Kivasu Nzioka later joined Unga Group Limited as a Systems Analyst from 1989 to 1991, gaining practical experience in corporate ICT systems.
Between 1991 and 1997, he worked at the University of Nairobi as a Lecturer in Computer Science, contributing to the training of future ICT professionals.

He later joined the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) in 1997, where he rose through the ranks, serving in several senior ICT positions, including Deputy Commissioner, Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
His service at KRA spanned nearly two decades until 2016, when he oversaw digital systems and tax administration reforms.
After his long career in ICT and management, Kivasu Nzioka transitioned to politics.
He successfully contested the Mbooni Constituency parliamentary seat on a Wiper Democratic Movement – Kenya (WDM-K) ticket in the 2022 General Election, securing a position as a Member of the National Assembly in Kenya’s 13th Parliament.
