Muthoni Kariuki ‘Noni’ will lead Kenya’s historic return to the Miss International Beauty Pageant, one of the world’s most prestigious contests alongside Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth — collectively known as the “Big Four.”
Her participation marks a new chapter for Kenya on the global stage of beauty, culture, and purpose — showcasing young women as leaders, changemakers, and climate champions.
The 63rd Miss International Beauty Pageant will take place in Tokyo, Japan, bringing together over 80 delegates from across the world to celebrate beauty with purpose, culture, and international goodwill.
Muthoni Kariuki Educational Background
Muthoni Kariuki holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Journalism, specializing in Broadcast Journalism, from Kenya Methodist University, where she studied from September 2014 to October 2019.
She also earned a Certificate in Marketing Management from the European Business University in 2021.
Career Background
Muthoni Kariuki, popularly known as Noni, currently serves as the 1st Miss Tourism Africa, a role she has held since October 2022. In this position, she promotes sustainable tourism, ecotourism, and cultural exchange across the continent.
As the Founder of Green Age Warriors, Muthoni leads an environmental initiative that champions justice, inclusion, equality, and equity in climate action.
She has also established HOUSE of NONI, a sustainable fashion brand dedicated to promoting eco-friendly designs and ethical fashion practices.

Beyond environmental advocacy, Muthoni works as a Digital Journalist with NK Earth TV, producing human interest stories that spotlight environmental conservation and social impact since 2019.
Between 2020 and 2021, she served as a Marketing and Communications Officer at Vera Beauty and Fashion College, Miss Earth Kenya, and Eco Earth Warriors Kenya, where she helped advance green innovation and youth engagement initiatives.
Crowned Miss Earth Kenya 2020, Muthoni represented the country at the international Miss Earth pageant, where she placed in the Top 20 out of 86 contestants and won three awards, including the prestigious Eco Angel Outfit title.
She also represented Kenya as a vCOY Delegate at the Youth Constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (YOUNGO) during the lead-up to COY16 and COP26, contributing to global discussions on youth climate advocacy.

Honors And Awards
Muthoni Kariuki was crowned the 1st Miss Tourism Africa in October 2022 by the Miss Tourism Africa Organization, becoming the inaugural titleholder and ambassador for sustainable tourism and cultural exchange across the continent.
In June 2022, she was named the Wowzi Best Nano Creator at the Digital Media Awards, in recognition of her impactful digital content that promotes social change and environmental awareness.
She received the Environmentalist of the Year Award from the Latewa Community-Based Organization during World Environment Day in 2021, in recognition of her contributions to environmental conservation and youth-led climate initiatives.
In November 2020, Muthoni won the Best Eco Angel Outfit Award at the Miss Earth Pageant, where she showcased a handmade costume crafted from fresh green leaves — symbolizing environmental renewal and sustainability.
Earlier, in September 2020, she was crowned Miss Earth Kenya 2020 by the Miss Earth Kenya Organization, representing the country on the international stage and advocating for environmental awareness.
In March 2019, she earned the Presidential Award (Bronze Level) from the Presidential Awards Kenya while at Kenya Methodist University, recognizing her leadership, service, and community engagement.
Muthoni also represented Embu County at the Miss Tourism Kenya National Pageant in August 2018, where she promoted tourism, peace, culture, and environmental awareness as Miss Tourism Kenya – Embu County.
