Agnes Wahome is a Kenyan, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).

She was appointed by the former Cabinet Secretary of Education George Magoha in February 2021.
Before her appointment, she served as the acting CEO starting in November 2020.

As the CEO, she is responsible for the day-to-day running and implementation of policies and the Strategic Plan of the institution.
Agnes Wahome Educational Background
Agnes Wahome holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Communication and a Master of Arts in Medical Sociology, both from the University of Nairobi (UoN).

In April 2021, she became the first-ever Kenyan to earn a PhD in Health Communication from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
Further, she is an international scholar and researcher, an alumnus of the Dutch Embassy and Sweden’s government agency for Development Cooperation (SIDA) education scholarships.

Her Career as KUCCPS CEO
Agnes Mercy Wahome joined the Education placement body as the manager in charge of research and knowledge management.
Additionally, she played a role in education publications that involved placement services.
During her tenure as a manager, she played a pivotal role in developing the essential career guide that helps secondary students find guidance before choosing a career.
Before joining KUCCPS, Agnes Wahome was in charge of international development organizations, including USAID, Oxfam Netherlands (Novib), and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
At the same time a research consultant for the Elton John Foundation, Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, and Pathfinder International.

Challenges as the CEO
In 2024, Wahome was summoned by the Commission of Administrative Justice for failing to publicly disclose university and college placement results.
The issue raised concerns about transparency in the placement process, and the commission called on her to provide clarification regarding the handling of placement results.
