Political Career
Caleb Amisi’s political career began in 2017, when he contested the Saboti Constituency parliamentary seat under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
At just 29 years old, he went on to win the election, becoming one of the youngest MPs in Kenya and the first in Saboti’s history to ascend to Parliament at such a young age.
During his first term in the 12th Parliament (2017–2022), Amisi served on the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations, where he contributed to discussions on national security, foreign policy, and defense matters.
In 2020, he was reassigned to the Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare, where he focused on policies addressing employment, social protection, and the welfare of vulnerable groups.
In the 2022 General Election, Amisi sought re-election, once again flying the ODM flag under the Azimio la Umoja coalition.
He won decisively with 25,469 votes, defeating his closest rival from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) by a significant margin.
This victory was historic, as it made him the first MP in Saboti Constituency’s history to secure a second consecutive term.
Since returning to Parliament in the 13th Parliament (2022–2027), Amisi has continued to serve as a vocal opposition leader, often using his platform to advocate for good governance and accountability.
He has been unafraid to challenge the government on critical issues, positioning himself as an independent thinker within Kenya’s political landscape.
Notably, in 2025, he publicly declared that he had never met or shaken hands with President William Ruto, symbolizing his political independence and commitment to representing the interests of his constituents without bias or undue influence.
