Gabriel Gathuka Kagombe is a Kenyan politician and a legislator serving as the Member of Parliament for Gatundu South Constituency.
He was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Gatundu South Constituency in the 2022 general elections, succeeding Moses Kuria.

Kagombe completed his secondary education at Mururia Secondary School, earning a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) around 2002.

Professional career
Gabriel Gathuka began his career as the Chairman of the Board of Management at Mutunguru Primary School, where he oversaw administrative and strategic decisions aimed at improving educational standards and infrastructure.
His role involved liaising with parents, teachers, and government officials to ensure the school met its academic and operational goals.
Kagombe was also a Board Member of the Biashara Fund in Kiambu County, a fund designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by providing financial assistance and capacity-building programs.
In the energy sector, Kagombe held the position of Chairman of Highlands Power Company, a local energy initiative aimed at expanding access to electricity in underserved areas.
Gabriel Gathuka has been actively involved in the tea industry, serving as a Director at Theta Tea Factory and Director at Ndarugu Tea Factory.
These roles placed him at the center of Kenya’s agricultural value chain, where he worked to improve production efficiency, farmer earnings, and factory governance.
His experience in education, finance, energy, and agriculture has informed his political agenda, particularly in areas related to infrastructure, youth empowerment, and economic growth.
Political career
In August 2022, Gabriel Gathuka was elected MP for Gatundu South on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
His tenure, however, has been overshadowed by legal troubles. In May 2024, he was arrested and charged with the fatal shooting of boda boda rider David Nduati Wataha during a confrontation in Thika.
Kagombe pleaded not guilty and was released on Ksh 1 million cash bail, with alternative bond and surety of Ksh 2 million each. He remains free on bail as the case proceeds.
