Pascaline Peter, popularly known as Passy Ma Trevor, was a Kenyan social media personality and self-described businesswoman who gained a substantial following on Facebook before venturing into investment and real estate activities.
She first became widely known after publicly sharing her experience of living with HIV. Through her social media content, she discussed her health journey, daily life, relationships, and personal experiences, building a loyal online following.
As her online influence grew, Passy Ma Trevor began sharing content about business and investment opportunities with her followers.
Passy Ma Trevor Investment Activities
Passy Ma Trevor later became associated with Pafrim Investments Limited, a business linked to real estate and the sale of plots. She also promoted an investment and money-lending operation to her social media audience.
Police said investors had been promised unusually high monthly returns, with some reportedly reaching 30 percent.
In a separate case presented before the Makadara Law Courts, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) said Passy and George Mutual Mutunga were accused of obtaining more than KSh80 million from 79 complainants.
The prosecution said the accused had allegedly represented that invested money would earn a monthly interest return of 23.5 percent, a claim they allegedly knew to be false.
The alleged transactions occurred on various dates between March 3, 2023 and August 30, 2024.
The two were also charged with allegedly operating a collective investment scheme without a valid license from the Capital Markets Authority or the Central Bank of Kenya.
They additionally faced a charge of conspiracy to defraud under Section 317 of the Penal Code.

According to the ODPP, the accused allegedly presented themselves as genuine sole proprietors of the Passy Ma Trevor investment scheme while conducting business as a collective investment scheme without the required license.
Both pleaded not guilty to the charges before Makadara Principal Magistrate Erick Mutunga.
Police Investigations
As Passy’s profile in the investment space grew, she also promoted real estate projects through Pafrim Investments Limited. She branded herself as a chief executive committed to making land more affordable and frequently shared promotional videos and testimonials online.
Detectives said her social media influence, connection with followers, lifestyle, and testimonials from supposed successful investors helped attract people to the businesses.
Investigators later said the businesses began experiencing difficulties after investors started demanding withdrawals and refunds that could no longer be sustained.
Complaints were subsequently filed at different police stations across the country. Detectives said more than 200 people may have been affected, with alleged losses estimated at approximately KSh350 million.
The KSh80 million cited in the ODPP case involved 79 complainants, while the KSh350 million figure related to the wider police investigation and reports involving more than 200 potential victims.

After reportedly going into hiding for several weeks, Passy Ma Trevor was arrested in Kantafu, Machakos County, during a joint operation by DCI detectives.
Arrest and Court Proceedings
Investigating officer Justin Mutwiri told the court that Passy and her co-accused allegedly went into hiding after complainants demanded their return.
He said they later switched off their mobile phones, requiring intelligence operations involving different agencies to trace them.
The prosecution opposed their release on bond, arguing that the accused were likely to interfere with key witnesses, had no fixed abode and posed a flight risk. The victims’ lawyer also opposed their release on bond.
Police obtained court orders allowing Passy to remain in custody as investigations continued. The investigations included tracing bank transactions, freezing accounts linked to the alleged scheme and recording additional statements from complainants.
Passy remained at Lang’ata Women’s Prison as investigations into the allegations continued.
As of August 13, 2026, it had not been confirmed whether Passy Ma Trevor had been released from custody or remained in detention.
