March 3rd marked a sad milestone for Ciru Muriuki, as it has been exactly one month since the passing of her fiancé, Charles Ouda.
The former BBC journalist expressed deep sorrow, acknowledging that life has been forever altered by the loss of the award-winning actor.
In a heartfelt tribute, Ciru conveyed her enduring love for Ouda, stating that their bond transcends goodbyes, leaving her with a profound longing to reunite with him.
Reflecting on their time together, Ciru reminisced about Ouda being her favorite hello and the most challenging goodbye.
Ciru Muriuki’s Tribute
She emphasized that his presence enriched her life immeasurably, expressing eternal love and admiration for him.
“One month. One month without you. One month of pain I didn’t think was possible. You were my favorite hello, and my hardest goodbye,” she wrote.
“But there can never be goodbyes between us. Just the longing to see you again. My life will forever be better because you were in it. I love you Ceej. Forever and always.”

Jackie Matubia, Ouda’s on-screen partner, also honored him in a touching post, recalling his final words during their time on the Salem TV show, emphasizing his lasting impact on their industry.

“Happy one month in heaven my G. I think this past week I have shouted your name so many times. Am sorry for that. I know you were like ‘chill mama’ but yap, I did the thing,” noted Matubia.

Charles Ouda’s Funeral and Cremation
The actor’s cremation took place at the Kariokor Crematorium on February 15 following a funeral mass at the All-Saints Cathedral.
At the cremation site, white roses were placed atop his casket as a symbol of love and respect for his legacy.
Ciru was visibly emotional during the ceremony, supported by friends and family members as she bid farewell to her beloved soulmate.

Ciru shared details of her relationship with Ouda, revealing that they first crossed paths when he was a student at St. Mary’s School in Nairobi.
Their paths converged again in 2020 after her dad’s demise, leading to a romantic connection that culminated in Ouda’s proposal in September 2023.
Tragically, just five months later, Ouda passed away before they could fulfill their plans to marry.
Despite the profound grief and disbelief, she feels, Ciru cherished memories of Ouda’s romantic gestures like giving her foot massages and helping with household chores.
