DJ Fatxo is the Male Mugithi Artist of The Year award in the recently concluded e360 awards.
Although Fatxo has not commented on his win, he had previously urged his fans to vote for him on Instagram in February. The singer posted a collage of himself with the voting procedures to make it easier for his fans to support him, saying
“Deadline day almost there… help me bring this home. To vote for me as the Male Mugithi artist of the year.”
However, Fatxo’s win has been overshadowed by ongoing investigations into Jeff Mwathi, who died in the musician’s apartment. The Inspector General of Police, Japhet Koome, recently disclosed that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations would move to court to seek orders for Jeff’s exhumation, saying that the police would not leave any stone unturned in finding out what had transpired before Jeff’s death.

“Tutapata ukweli, kama aliuwawa,” he said during a press briefing in Nairobi. He added that the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) had poked holes during the interior designer’s death investigation.
The family of the 23-year-old man is seeking justice and answers after his death. A report by Inooro TV indicated that on the day Jeff died, he had spent the day with DJ Fatxo, who had contracted him for some interior decor in his shop. After spending the day together at Kiambu Road, they then went to have fun at various entertainment joints, the last being Quiver, which they left at 3 am.
Despite the controversy surrounding his win, DJ Fatxo has emerged as a talented artist and a popular figure in the Kikuyu music scene. His Male Mugithi Artist Of The Year award is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and it is likely that he will continue to produce great music in the years to come.
