An accident occurred on Saturday, May 10, at midnight on Kimende Road involving a Climax bus and a Nissan.
No fatalities were reported from the accident, but at least five people were seriously injured, and one person fainted.
One of the victims, who was a passenger on the bus, said that she was lucky to have survived the accident.
“Accident!!! Today at midnight on the Kimende–Naivasha road, at least five people were seriously injured. One person fainted. No deaths have been reported. I’m a victim. It’s God, always. Let’s always praise His name when we go out and when we return. It’s God, always,’ the victim narrated.
Climax Bus Collides with Nissan, leaving 5 Seriously Injured
A source who spoke to The Kenya Times and was a victim of the accident recounted that the Climax bus driver was speeding.
When the bus was about to collide with a Nissan, the driver tried to avoid the impact but ended up hitting the vehicle. As a result, the bus veered off the road, rolled over, and landed in a ditch.
“The problem was that the driver was driving at a very high speed. When he was about to collide with the Nissan, he tried to swerve and avoid it, but that’s when it all happened. The bus slid off the tarmac and into a ditch,” narrated the source.

This accident comes days after a similar incident was witnessed on May 8, 2025, where a tragic road accident occurred along the Molo-Njoro road in Nakuru County, at the Arimi black spot near Chebonde Bridge in the Elburgon area.
NTSA Report on Road Accidents
The collision involved a 14-seater matatu operated by Nakuru K. Sacco and a lorry, resulting in the death of 12 people, including six men, five women, and one secondary school student from DEB Primary School, Njoro.
On April 16, 2025, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) released new figures detailing the number of road accident fatalities recorded in the first three months of 2025. According to the report, 5,856 people were involved in road crashes between January 1 and March 31, marking a decrease of 1,908 cases compared to the same period in 2024.

Of those involved, 1,139 people lost their lives, a slight drop from the 1,166 fatalities recorded during the same period last year. Another 3,316 individuals sustained serious injuries, while 2,693 suffered minor injuries.
