Alliance Girls High School teacher Peter Albert Ayiro, who had been accused of sexually abusing learners, has resigned.
This comes following explosive allegations of sexual grooming, abuse, and misconduct spanning over two decades.
In a letter addressed to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) dated August 17, Ayiro said he had endured “evil, monstrous, and persistent cyberbullying, threats of physical harm, and public humiliation.”
“I hereby tender my resignation from the Teachers Service Commission, effective immediately in accordance with the terms and conditions of service,” read the letter in parts.
“This decision has not come easily. It is as a result of the false accusations leveled against me. I continue to endure evil, monstrous and persistent cyberbullying, threats of physical harm, public humiliation and even being ostracized from my church.”
He added, “This has been an attack on my character, career and social standing, putting me under great stress and strain.”
Ayiro said he was grateful for the opportunity to serve as a teacher for the last 26 years, noting that he had gained invaluable experience and growth during his tenure.

“Kindly acknowledge receipt of this resignation, and please advise on the necessary clearance and exit procedures,” he added.
Accusations Against Ayiro
For years, Ayiro held trusted positions at AGHS, serving as Christian Union patron, drama club mentor, and spiritual advisor.
However, he was later implicated in a series of allegations by former students and staff, who accused him of engaging in a calculated pattern of sexual grooming and abuse.
The claims were detailed in a damning investigative report by Africa Uncensored journalist and Alliance Girls alumna Christine Mungai.

Following the report, which exposed disturbing patterns, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) sent Ayiro on a 30-day suspension effective July 15, 2025.
In the suspension letter signed by Acting TSC Chief Executive Officer Evaleen Mitei, Ayiro was accused of breaching several provisions of the Teachers Service Commission Act, Regulation 141 of the Code of Regulations for Teachers (CORT), and Clause 22 of the Code of Conduct and Ethics.
The letter cited what the CEO described as acts amounting to professional misconduct.
He was further accused of engaging in immoral behaviour involving learners at the school.
“Due to the gravity of these allegations and the need to conduct independent and impartial investigations into the matter, and pursuant to the provisions of Regulation 136 of the CORT, the Commission has decided to send you on compulsory leave for 30 days with effect from July 15, 2025,” reads part of the letter.
