Popular X influencer Eric Amunga, known as Amerix, clashed with Al Jazeera media on Friday night, November 1, over his masculinity posts.
In a post on Friday, Amerix shared screenshots of an email he received from a journalist working with the international media outlet saying that some of their interviewees suggest that his weekly masculinity teachings demean women.
“Some of our interviewees suggest that your initiative, Masculinity Saturdays, fosters an environment where misogyny and hate speech against women may proliferate. In their view, this, combined with Kenya’s existing patriarchal structures, risks contributing to gender discrimination and violence against women, including femicide,” the alleged post read.
The Al Jazeera Journalist wanted a reply from Amerix based on those allegations.
Amerix responds to Al Jazeera
“We’re currently producing a TV report on Kenya’s manosphere, exploring its appeal to men and examining its detrimental impact on women. We would like to invite you to provide a written response to the following question,” the journalist requested.

In his response, Amerix took a bold stance publicly criticizing the media outlet.
“Shame on you Al Jazeera. Let men prosper,” Amerix responded.
Following this exchange, a heated debate emerged across the X platform. Several users rallied behind Amerix, expressing disapproval of Al Jazeera’s inquiry.
Kenyans react to Eric Amunga’s post
One user, under the name Wambua, echoed Amerix’s sentiments, commenting, “Shame on you Al Jazeera. They aren’t happy seeing the men prosper.”
Another user, Ogir, dismissed the media outlet’s effort, stating, “Al Jazeera can’t stop Masculinity Saturday. They’ll wait for your response forever, all in vain for them.”
Adding a humorous angle, X user Muthoni Njakwe joked, “Hawa watu hukuuliza nini?” loosely translating to “What kind of questions do they even ask you?”
This comment comes after CNN reportedly reached out to Amerix about his masculinity teachings as well.

The CNN media requested a comment on the spread of manosphere content in Kenya and its impact on women.

CNN reported that Amerix has amassed a significant online following with his masculinity-focused content, which is frequently regarded as a driving force behind the manosphere movement throughout the country.
In his response, Amerix lashed out at the international media huse for asking him such a question.
Eric’s Masculinity teachings
Since Amerix began his popular Masculinity Saturday teachings, which run every Saturday, some people have criticized his approach.
Critics argue that he promotes views advocating male dominance over women and equates masculine power with the ability to impregnate.
At the same time, others have praised him for positively shaping men’s lives and fostering personal transformation.
