Bubbly and talented TV47 news and sports journalist Ahmed Bahajj has joined the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), barely months after joining the Cape Media-owned outfit.
Bahajj joined TV47 in June, alongside news anchor Fred Indimuli, after they dumped KTN News over the financial challenges facing the Standard Group.
Taking to social media, Bahajj announced that he had officially joined BBC Swahili as a broadcast journalist.
“I have finally joined BBC Swahili as a Swahili broadcast journalist. This marks the beginning of a new chapter,” he stated, captioning his photo at the London-based giant with a regional office in Nairobi.
On his Facebook page, Bahajj said he did not mind applauding his friends who have succeeded in the past.

Further, he stated that it is his turn to take the next achievement and make his dream come true.
“I thank God for his blessings, I am an example to the Kenyan youth that nothing is impossible, and they should have self-confidence,” he said.
Besides, he thanked his fans for their support throughout his journey in the media industry.
“This achievement could have been possible without the support of the fans, I thank you all and this win is for all of us,” said Bahajj.
Bahajj Journalist Career
Additionally, Bahajj mentioned that he will not forget his roots in the media industry.
Also, he said he does not have an idea of what the future holds, and he won’t brag about his achievements.
Bahajj begun his journalistic career at Radio Salaam Kenya before moving to Radio China International.
At China Radio International, Bahajj established himself as a proficient Swahili reporter with a diverse background.
He later joined the Standard Media Group as a reporter on KTN News.
At KTN, Bahajj served as a show host, news anchor and reporter leaving a strong mark as a proud journalist.
However, Bahajj quit the Standard Group on June 8, 2023, before joining TV47 together with a host of journalists.

What’s more, the Swahili reporter joins a growing list of Kenyan to journalists who have joined BBC in the past.
The latest on this list is Waihiga Mwaura who left Citizen TV and joined BBC Africa. Others are Akisa Wandera, Dorcas Wangira, Richard Kagoe and Ian Wafula.
