Police in Nairobi are investigating the death of a young woman following an incident at a short-stay apartment in Kileleshwa. The woman, identified as Consolata Githinji, was reported to have fallen from the sixth floor of the building.
Consolata Githinji, a 22-year-old 4th-year student at Muranga University, is reported to have died following an incident at Kaisa Garden Apartments in Kileleshwa, where she allegedly fell from the sixth floor of an Airbnb unit during the early hours of the morning.
According to reports, her boyfriend, who was in her company as they entered the apartment, stated that Consolata became angry and allegedly threw herself from the window.
However, several questions remain regarding the incident. Investigators are seeking to establish whether it was a case of suicide, whether foul play was involved, and what exactly occurred in the minutes leading up to her fall.
According to CCTV footage, Githinji’s final moments before the incident have been captured as the investigation begins.
CCTV Footage Reveals Final Moments Of Consolata Githinji in Kileleshwa
A man believed to have been with Consolata Githinji at the time of the incident has been taken into police custody as investigations continue.
According to CCTV footage, a night guard was stationed near the lift lobby when Githinji arrived at the apartment, accompanied by a man later identified as Tony Odhiambo.

The two were assisted in gaining access before entering apartment C.
According to CCTV timelines:
• 4:17 am – Odhiambo enters the BnB with Consolata Githinji
• 4:18 am – Room door opens
• 4:32 am- Door is seen open, commotion/fight appears inside
• 4:34 am – A watchman/soldier enters, seemingly to calm the situation
• 4:36 am – He leaves
• 6:19 am – People and police arrive. Consolata is pronounced dead. Odhiambo is arrested.
Shortly after entry, the footage shows movement at the apartment doorway, indicating possible commotion inside the unit.
The night guard is seen entering the apartment and later exiting, before briefly returning again as activity continued inside.

Investigators Reports
Investigators report that Githinji was last seen alive in the CCTV recordings before the incident that followed.
Further, they say it remains unclear what transpired inside the apartment or how she ended up on the ground floor.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations later arrived at the scene and began collecting and documenting evidence.
Preliminary information indicates the apartment had been booked by a third party. Records also show that earlier occupants had checked into the same room prior to the incident, raising questions about the sequence of events.
