A section of leaders from Kitui County including Kitui East Member of Parliament Nimrod Mbai has taken issue with First Daughter Charlene Ruto ‘s Zero Barefoot Campaign.
Mbai was quick to dismiss the donation claiming the shoes which Charlene donated were of poor quality and oversized.
In addition, he said that the campaign was a funny programme to lure locals, saying the organizers were forced to take them back to Nairobi.
“We now here that they have come up with a funny programme of distributing plastic and oversized shoes to our primary schools.
Those shoes are of poor quality and oversized, they had to return with them to Nairobi since none of the student s would fit,’ he said.
Likewise, he insisted that Kitui County residents had not benefitted in any way from President William Ruto‘s government.
