First Daughter Charlene Ruto mourned the death of Kaizer Obed Segera, popularly known as Grand Mullah who was buried in Nyamira county on Friday, February 16.
Charlene wrote a heartfelt message about Kaizer saying that her first interaction with the late popular influencer on X was online.
She recalled how they worked together on her ’30 Things’ project which champions for the agenda of the youth.
According to the note, Grand Mullah helped Charlene draft some themes for the project with ideas the first daughter admitted were impressive.
At the time, Charlene and Kaizer were only working on the project remotely. But Kaizer’s brilliant ideas, as Charlene explained, gave her the urge to meet and work with him.
After that, Charlene offered Kaizer a position in her team. She said that the deceased wrote most of her speeches and made a brilliant addition to her team.
“Today we lay to rest one of the greatest brilliant young minds Kenya has ever seen, Kaizer Obed Segera.
“He helped me draft some of the themes under the 30 things without even meeting me, just by recommendation. When I realized his brilliance, I asked to meet him, and he started helping me draft my official speeches,” she said.

Stephen Letoo and Others Eulogize Grand Mullah During Burial
The first daughter sent her personal assistant to represent her at the funeral. While giving a speech on behalf of Charlene, he reiterated the big role grand Mullah played in their team noting that he had left a huge gap.
“Charlene sent us to send her condolences. We have experienced a great loss. Obed played a very vital role in the team and whenever you saw Charlene speak, many of her speeches were written by Obed,” he said.
The burial ceremony was graced by many of kaizer’s close friends and family including Citizen TV journalists Stephen Letoo, Ayub Abdikadir, among other journalists and media personalities.
University of Nairobi students and alumni came in large numbers taking to the stage to sing and chant in remembrance of their comrade.

The death of kaizer Obed
Grand Mullah passed on February 3, while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
His death was a shock to many Kenyans who came out to mourn him and share the memories they shared with him.
Obed first gained prominence during his time at the University of Nairobi, where he actively participated in student representation politics and engaged in various activities.
From 2018 to 2022, Obed successfully completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government degree and concurrently pursued studies in International Relations.
Utilizing his expertise and skills, he proceeded to build connections with politicians, assisting them in formulating strategies and promoting their public image.
He advocated for organizations in challenging circumstances, contributing to the development of effective communication strategies for them.
