The office of the Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dismissed reports that Farouk Kibet was declared wanted, stating that the information circulating is fake and misleading to the public.
DCI also dismissed claims that Farouk Kibet had been expelled and fired as President William Ruto’s personal aide, as reported.
The clarification follows a wave of viral social media posts and alleged official letters claiming that Kibet had been declared wanted and removed from his position.

Although some of the documents shared online bore government letterheads, raising questions about their authenticity, the DCI maintained that they were fabricated and did not represent any official State communication.

The fake letter alleged that Farouk Kibet was dismissed after reportedly demanding a bribe from an individual seeking to see the President about what was described as important information.
According to the document, the individual was denied access after allegedly refusing to pay.
It further claimed that the President later learned about the matter and was angered by the alleged incident.
DCI trashed all this.

How Farouk Kibet Met President William Ruto
The President and Farouk met in the murky waters of politics in 1997 when the latter was vying for the Eldoret North parliamentary seat.
William Ruto was then actively involved in the infamous YK92, a ruling party youth wing that campaigned for the late President Daniel Moi after the advent of multiparty democracy.
Kibet’s association with Ruto began during the succession period following Moi’s tenure and the dissolution of YK92. He would later become Ruto’s aide, having served as MP until 2002.
He rose to prominence as a youth leader in the Rift Valley, closely associating with the former MP of Eldoret North and KANU Veteran Reuben Chesire.
In 2002, he was nominated as a counselor with Ruto’s support, gradually solidifying his position as a grassroots organizer within Ruto’s political circle.
