Fresh details into the case involving Mercy Awuor, the woman who was reported missing by her entangled husband after she was allegedly abducted before she was found living with another man who she claims was her other husband, have emerged.
This is after detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested four people in connection with the alleged kidnapping incident reported at the Kitisuru Police station.
Investigators say they are recording statements from the woman and three other men entangled in the suspected infidelity web.
The three men are at the center of investigations into the alleged kidnapping incident that turns out to be an unfortunate entanglement affair.
Detectives want to understand how and what happened to prompt one Brian Andole to file a police report that his wife Mercy Awuor had been kidnapped and a ransom demanded.
On 9th November, Andole filed a police report claiming his “wife” who they had stayed together in Nairobi for over a year had been kidnapped.
He stated the kidnappers demanded a ransom fee to set the 26-year-old free. Brian was worried on the woman’s whereabout and faulted the police for not acting fast enough to establish her whereabouts.

Mercy Awuor found
An investigation was launched into the claims which saw a team of detectives from the DCI’s Operations and Crime Research Unit swung into action.
Mercy was later tracked to Oldonyo Orok in Narok County where detectives found her living with another man identified as George Odada, who she said this was her rightful husband whom they have two children.

Odada said he paid dowry for the woman before she disappeared to Nairobi and got engaged to Andole.
“In their customary they must take cows, and they have taken almost two cows to the parents. So, he’s officially married to Mercy. Andole reported this is his wife, but we are getting this person is married to another man,” said the DCI Deputy Director John Onyango.
“So, the common denominator here is Mercy, because she misled and maybe she misled Andole.
Awuor on her part confessed to having been in an affair with Andole upon leaving Odada in the village.
She says she was never kidnapped but decided to end her relationship with Andole and got back home to where her family was.
“I wasn’t able to handle it when I heard that I was demanding for a ransom, I asked myself why was would I demand for the money? she said.
Police arrested Mary and Odada along with a close friend to Mercy whose mobile phone was allegedly used to demand ransom.
As part of the ongoing probe police, have also arrested Andole to establish if indeed a ransom fee was demanded.
All the four are now in police custody as detectives seek to establish more details into the alleged kidnapping and prefer charges if and to either of the four persons.
