Deputy President William Ruto while addressing the media on Tuesday, May 10 at his Karen residence said, there is nothing to benchmark in the Raila Odinga-led, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance.
“How can there be benchmarking between darkness and the light? There is nothing that we have in common with the people on the other side, the journey to the alliance of the willing already started when we had the first meeting with our colleagues,” he stated.
The deputy president’s statement was in response to remarks made on Monday, May 9 by Azimio’s Executive Director Raphael Tuju who claimed that parties that defected from their coalition wanted the Azimio document to use for negotiations with Kenya Kwanza alliance.
“Some of the people who said that they needed this document we know that they were negotiating with the other side and they needed it for purposes of benchmarking,” Tuju said.
