Drama unfolded in Nakuru County after two police officers engaged in a heated confrontation during a routine traffic stop over alleged invalid insurance documents.
The incident occurred when a traffic officer stopped a motorist while on duty.
What began as a routine verification quickly turned tense after it was alleged that the driver, later identified as a fellow police officer with the Kenya Police Service, lacked valid insurance.
The exchange escalated into a verbal confrontation between the two officers, attracting the attention of members of the public and other road users who witnessed the incident.

In the video seen by The Kenya Times, the female traffic police officer recounts how the confrontation unfolded during a traffic stop.
She says she was insulted during the encounter, explaining: “He called me stupid. Even though I am also a police officer, I had not seen his uniform, and he was calling me stupid.”
The male officer also responded, questioning the situation and expressing confusion over how it escalated. He says, “I don’t know what her problem was. I told her I am a police officer, but he kept insisting on insurance. just behave.”

NPS Condemns Viral Nakuru Incident Involving Two Police Officers in Heated Confrontation
The National Police Service (NPS), in response, condemned the harassment of the female traffic officer.
NPS Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga, in a statement on Friday, May 8, said the male motorist seen engaging in a heated exchange with the traffic officer has been identified as a police officer serving in the same county.
He condemned the behavior, stating that such conduct is unlawful and directly contradicts the core values of professionalism, discipline, respect, and integrity for which the NPS stands.
Nyaga added that no officer, regardless of gender or rank, should be subjected to harassment while serving the public and upholding the law.
“The actions displayed by the male officer do not, in any way, represent the ethos, training, or code of conduct of the National Police Service,” read the statement in part.
“We are a Service built on honour, courage, and mutual respect-both among our members and towards the public we serve. To this end, the NPS has swiftly initiated disciplinary and corrective measures.”

The NPS also commended the female officer for maintaining composure during the incident, describing her conduct as professional despite provocation.
It further reminded all officers to uphold discipline and professionalism when interacting with the public and colleagues.
