The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has shortlisted candidates for the advertised Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position as Twalib Mbarak’s term comes to an end.
Out of 172 applicants who expressed interest in the advertised post, 14 have been invited for interviews on different dates starting November 19 to November 21, 2024.

They include Stephen Masha Ngowa, Vincent Omari Okongo, Doreen Nkatha Muthaura, Justa Wawira Mwangi, Jackson Kaunda Mue, Joseph Vincent Onyango, and Paul Ndemo Maina.
Other shortlisted Kenyans include Peter Lokol Lomulen, Obadiah Kipkoech Keitany, John Tentemo Ole Moyaki, David Kiplagat Ruto Too, Abdi Ahmed Mohamud, Mohamed Abdul Mmaka, and Waweru Karanja.

Two of the shortlisted candidates are female while 12 are male. Additionally, they are drawn from various counties in the country including Kilifi, Isiolo, Machakos, Nairobi, Kisii, Siaya, Turkana, Baringo, Kajiado, Uasin Gishu, Garissa, Embu, Lamu, and Laikipia.
In the notice published on Friday, October 11, EACC invited members of the public to provide any credible information of interest relating to suitability of any of the shortlisted candidates, through sworn affidavit to the chairperson David Oginde.

The representations can be sent through email to chair@integrity.go.ke.
The information can also be delivered to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Integrity Centre, 3rd Floor, P.O Box 61130-00200 Nairobi addressed to the commission’s chairperson David Oginde to be received on or before November 11, 2024.
Required Documents for Shortlisted Candidates
Shortlisted candidates for the secretary/chief executive officer (CEO) position should bring with them their original documents including national identity card and academic and professional certificates.
They also need to have valid and current clearances from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

Other required documents entail a self-declaration form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission [EACC), letters of recognition from the Commission of Higher Education for any degree obtained from foreign universities, recommendation letters from the relevant professional body where applicable, and any other supporting documents and testimonials.
Twalib Mbarak’s Term at EACC
The commission advertised the secretary/CEO vacancy on September 17, 2024, through newspapers, MyGov, and the EACC website. Interested individuals were to send their applications on or before Monday October 7, 2024, at 5.00pm.

The shortlisting of candidates comes as the term of the current Chief Executive Officer Twalib Mbarak ends. Twalib took the reins at EACC on January 14, 2019, following a swearing in ceremony at the Supreme Court of Kenya.
He took over from Mr. Halakhe Waqo whose six-year tenure expired on January 10, 2019.
