Elvis Mushila is a Kenyan content creator who has emerged as one of the country’s most-followed TikTok personalities after quitting nursing to pursue content creation full-time, building an audience of more than 5 million followers across social media.
Known for his street pranks and unusual appearance, Mushila has transformed content creation into a full-time career after walking away from nursing, a profession he says he pursued mainly to fulfill his parents’ wishes.
Based in Nakuru, Mushila is best known for dressing in a tattered wedding gown that once belonged to his mother, an old coat previously worn by his father, an oversized wig, and dramatic makeup.
The unique look has become his trademark, making him recognizable to millions of followers online.
His TikTok account has grown to 5.2 million followers, while he also commands a large audience on Instagram and Facebook.
Elvis Mushila celebrated his 24th birthday on August 1.
From Nursing to Content Creation
Before becoming a full-time content creator, Mushila studied nursing and briefly worked in the profession after qualifying.
However, in an interview with Citizen Digital, he revealed that he chose nursing primarily to satisfy his parents, even though his passion had always been content creation.
“I studied nursing for my parents, but my heart is in content creation,” he said.

After working as a nurse for only a few months, Mushila decided to leave the profession and focus entirely on creating digital content.
He has since described content creation as a flexible and financially rewarding career that allows him to do what he enjoys most.
How His Career Began
Elvis Mushila started creating content around 2020 while he was still a student at Langa Langa Secondary School during the COVID-19 pandemic.
His early videos focused on street interviews before he developed the prank character that has now made him famous.
Mushila’s videos often feature him chasing unsuspecting members of the public while wearing his signature outfit, capturing their reactions before revealing that it is all part of a prank.
“I love chasing people around for fun. It’s incredibly fulfilling to entertain others through my passion as a content creator,” said Mushila in the interview.
The content has earned him millions of views across social media and established him as one of Kenya’s most recognizable prank creators.

Elvis Mushila Setting Limits on His Pranks
Although his videos are designed to surprise people, Elvis Mushila says he is careful not to cross the line, therefore, he avoids pranking elderly people and children, saying his goal is to entertain rather than cause fear or harm.
If someone is offended by one of his pranks, he says he apologizes and resolves the matter peacefully.
According to Mushila, the videos are meant to bring laughter and create memorable moments for viewers.
Despite his success, Mushila encourages aspiring content creators to focus on passion instead of money.
Elvis believes consistency, originality, and enjoying the creative process are more important than chasing quick financial rewards.
