Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ng’eno Kipyegon has died.
The legislator died on February 28 following a fatal plane crash. A plane carrying six people crashed and burst into flames in the Chepkiep area of Mosop Constituency, Nandi County. The aircraft reportedly attempted an emergency landing before it caught fire shortly after touching down.
Nandi County police commander Samuel Mukuusi confirmed that casualties were recorded at the scene. Emergency responders were deployed immediately as rescue operations and safety assessments commenced.
According to flight‑tracking data, the Airbus Helicopter H125, registration 5Y‑DSB, departed Nairobi at 11:02 AM on February 28, 2026. Records also indicate that the same aircraft took off on an earlier flight on February 22 at 1:32 PM.
Authorities earlier recovered a mobile phone & SIM card belonging to Johana Ng’eno at the crash scene.
Similar gadgets belonging to Amos Kipngetich Rotich, an officer with the Kenya Forest Service (KFS), are among the recovered, while the remaining are yet to be identified.

Johana Ng’eno Kipyegon is a Kenyan politician who served as the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr Constituency in Narok County.

He has been representing Emurua Dikirr since 2013, was re-elected in 2017 and 2022, and is currently serving his third term.
Before entering politics, he served as a Director at the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) from 2008 to 2012.
Educational Background of Johana Ng’eno
Johana Ng’eno completed his early education at Mogondo Primary School, where he earned his KCPE between 1980 and 1987.
He then advanced to Maseno National School for his KCSE studies from 1988 to 1991.
Pursuing higher education abroad, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in International Law from Kyiv TSN University, Ukraine, between 2003 and 2006.
Returning to Kenya, he earned an LL. B (Bachelor of Laws) from Mount Kenya University from 2011 to 2013, and further advanced his qualifications with a Master of Arts in International Studies at the University of Nairobi between 2010 and 2012.

Career life
In March 2013, Johana Ngeno Kipyegon was first elected as a Member of Parliament representing Emurua Dikirr Constituency.
Since 2013, he has been a consistent member of the Departmental Committee on Justice & Legal Affairs and the Public Investments Committee.
He was re-elected in the 2017 general elections, continuing to serve the Emurua Dikirr Constituency, and also became a member of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Committee.
Ng’eno was re-elected in 2022 and continued to serve on parliamentary committees focused on justice, legal affairs, public investments, and constituency development.
