Former NTV investigative journalist Dennis Okari has landed a new role as the Official Partner for the Africa Region at Funded Next.
In a statement on May 29, 2025, Dennis Okari revealed that he is now based in South Africa.
“I am excited to announce that I’ve officially joined Funded Next as their Official Partner – Africa Region. I’m in South Africa, and we’re building something powerful for Africans,” he announced.
Previously, Okari took an unexpected turn in his career, transitioning from investigative reporting to becoming a forex trader and mentor.
Dennis Okari Journalism Career
Dennis, as an investigative journalist, has released multiple award-winning news documentaries between 2014 and 2021.
From 2013 to 2014, Dennis Okari worked as a Senior Investigative and Crime Reporter at Nation Media Group. In this role, he served as a scriptwriter and producer of investigative features, which entailed uncovering complex crime and corruption stories.
In 2020, Dennis Okari’s investigative piece ‘Covid-19 Millionaires’ garnered significant attention for exposing corruption and mismanagement of funds intended for combating the pandemic.
The exposé sparked national outrage, prompted government responses, and cemented Okari’s reputation as one of Kenya’s most popular investigative journalists.
Additionally, he worked as an Editor for special projects from 2014 at Nation Media Group before embarking on the Forex trading business.
From 2014 to January 2015, Okari served as a Multi-Platform Bilingual Reporter for BBC News, covering stories across East Africa.

He had previously served as an Anchor and Senior Investigative Reporter at Radio Africa Group from 2011 to 2013. During his stint at Radio Africa, Okari worked across multiple platforms including KISS TV, KISS 100, Classic 105, X-FM, and East FM.
Between 2004 and 2006, Dennis was a presenter and show host for Metro TV and also worked for TBN Africa (Family Media) as a producer and presenter.
Dennis also worked as a researcher and voice over artist at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), Kenya’s state-owned television station.

Achievements and Awards
Dennis Okari has received accolades in recognition of his outstanding work in journalism. In 2014, he was named Journalist of the Year and also received the award for Best Reporter in Good Governance at the Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA).
In 2017, he was named Sports Reporter of the Year by the Media Council of Kenya.
Additionally, in 2021, he earned recognition with the award for Best Health Reporting.
