Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi has revealed that prices for fertilizers will drop from Ksh. 3,500 to Ksh. 2,500 per bag.
While speaking in Makueni on Saturday, July 29, the CS said the drop in prices is part of government efforts to increase food production.
The CS further urged Kenyans to take advantage of the low cost of fertilizer to increase food production.
“Kile kitamaliza ni kuandamana na panga na jembe kulima na kupanda chakula, that is the only way to bring down the cos of food.” Linturi stated.
Losely translating to “The only way to bring down the cost of food is to go to the farm to plough and plant produce.”

He said President William Ruto’s administration is committed to lowering the cost of living by supporting production.
Moreover, Linturi took a swipe at Azimio la Umoja One Coalition leaders for the protests, saying demonstrations cannot lower the cost of living.
Linturi reported that more than three million bags of fertilizer had been distributed countrywide.
